Position Title: Middle School Teaching Fellow and Varsity Upper School Football Assistant Coach

Germantown Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school located on a beautiful 126-acre campus in the Fort Washington suburbs near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are seeking candidates for a 1-2 year teaching fellow tenure to join our community beginning August 2026. This is a 10-month position with an excellent array of benefits and a competitive salary.

We are seeking candidates who…

• Have 1-5 years of experience coaching football, high school and/or college coaching experience strongly preferred
• 0-3 years of teaching experience and a desire to teach middle school students in English, Science, History, Math, or Spanish
• Hold a degree in their preferred discipline or education and are interested in pursuing a career in coaching or teaching
• Are excited to work with and support Middle School-aged students (grades 6-8)
• Demonstrate a commitment to student-centered learning
• Demonstrate a collaborative and growth mindset as a teacher, coach, and professional
• Possess the cultural competency necessary for working with a diverse population in an equitable and inclusive community
• Demonstrate the flexibility to use technology in support of student learning and other professional responsibilities
• Communicate well, both in writing and verbally, with colleagues, students, athletes, and families
• Model a culture of flexible, continuous learning to challenge and support students and athletes

Core Job Responsibilities

This role is a full-time teaching position with the following major responsibilities:

• Teach one or two sections (6^th, 7^th, and/or 8^th grade, depending on departmental needs)
• Assist with class coverages across various disciplines in Middle School
• Serve as a co-advisor/advisor for a group of approximately 12 Middle School students
• Coach varsity football and at least one (and preferably two) additional seasons of Middle or Upper School athletics.
• Other responsibilities including attending regular faculty meetings, professional learning communities, in-service days, and other supervision duties as assigned.
