Bosque School seeks an Emergency Medicine Educator & Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Coordinator to support student, staff, faculty, and community health through a unique blend of teaching, emergency response leadership, and program coordination.
This 100% FTE role is composed of two integrated components
40% FTE teaching responsibility:
60% FTE dedicated to leadership of the Bosque School Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) program
The position partners closely with the school health office and community healthcare professionals to ensure the MRC/ERT program operates effectively during both routine programming and emergency response situations, while extending this work into research, education, and community engagement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Emergency Medicine Education & Teaching
Teach and mentor students in Public Health / Medical Research Seminar and Capstone courses
Guide students through original research, inquiry design, and capstone projects related to medical and public health topics
Support dual-enrollment and immersive courses connected to emergency medicine and public health
Prepare students for responder training, licensure pathways, and applied learning experiences
MRC / ERT Program Leadership
Provide day-to-day oversight of Bosque School’s Emergency Response Team and Junior MRC Unit
Teach and coordinate weekly and monthly responder trainings aligned with NM EMS Bureau standards
Support students preparing for National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams
Ensure compliance with licensing, documentation, and training requirements through state and national systems
Emergency & Medical Response Support
Provide on-site emergency medical support at school events and during emergency situations, as needed
Serve as a member of the school’s Crisis Management Committee
Support health office operations, equipment readiness, and responder preparedness
Community Outreach & Partnerships
Expand community-facing emergency preparedness and public health initiatives
Participate in regional, state, and national MRC trainings and response opportunities
Support professional development and continuing education offerings for responders
Administrative & Program Support
Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation using platforms such as Imagetrend and NM EMS portals
Coordinate communications, training schedules, and responder status tracking
Collaborate with faculty, staff, families, and community partners to support student health and learning
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Current NM EMS licensure (EMT-B/A/P) or ability to license/relicense within 30 days of hire
EMS Instructor Coordinator (IC) status or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Experience working with high school students
CPR/BLS certification
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm, adaptive, and effective in high-stakes situations
