Founded in 1902, Brunswick School is a college-preparatory, independent day school for boys from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 in Greenwich, CT. The school’s purpose is to prepare boys for lives marked by excellence in their endeavors, ethics in their actions, and empathy toward others. Through its commitment to a strong, diverse, and inclusive community of belonging, Brunswick provides a well-rounded intellectual, physical, civic, and moral education designed to challenge each boy to fulfill his unique potential. The school also aspires to develop the creative and independent qualities of mind necessary for intellectual maturity, self-confidence, and a sense of responsibility to those around him in both his local community and the world.
Grounding the Brunswick experience are the school’s core values. The school’s motto, “Courage, Honor, Truth” signifies that the strength of a young man’s character and the depth of his spirit define all genuine and lasting success. Brunswick’s proverb, “With All Thy Getting, Get Understanding,” embodies the School’s ideal that the most important elements of an education and journey to manhood are not simply the pursuit of knowledge and immediate gratification, but the lifelong rewards of the hard-won pursuit of wisdom and understanding.
