Responsibilities:

• Teach eight classes over three terms; work with students on independent, project-based work.
• Contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with faculty from various academic disciplines to design and co-teach interdisciplinary classes. 
• Conference regularly with students and write detailed reports on student performance.
• Lead afternoon and/or evening activities in arts, athletics, or another area of expertise.
• Serve as a dorm parent and advise 6-8 students.

Benefits: 

• Salary range of $44,500 to $82,430, depending on experience.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will have earned at least a four-year college degree, with an academic background suitable for teaching history and interdisciplinary humanities courses. Three or more years of experience teaching history is preferred. Candidates must have the ability and appetite to teach all four grade levels with a demonstrated ability to teach to a wide range of student abilities and levels. They are expected to be inquisitive, interested in educational design, engaged by Putney’s mission and creative ethos, excellent communicators, technologically nimble, energetic, and initiative-taking self-starters.
