Latin School of Chicago is seeking Assistant Teachers for grades Junior Kindergarten through Fourth grade.

Latin School of Chicago is seeking Assistant Teachers for grades Junior Kindergarten through Fourth Grade for the 2026-2027 school year. The Assistant Teacher program goals are to provide each Assistant Teacher with an authentic teaching and learning experience under the supervision of lead teachers. The starting salary for this full-time position is $31,409 with additional stipends available. A high-quality employee-only benefits package is included.
What you’ll do as Assistant Teacher:
Assist the lead teacher in the daily operation and management of the classroom
Help promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment for students
Build and nurture positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
In collaboration with the lead teacher, and depending on your interests and skills, you may also have opportunities to:
Assist in planning, developing, and implementing classroom curriculum
Support instruction and facilitate student learning as directed by the lead teacher
Help with grading, student assessment, and maintaining accurate documentation under the guidance of the lead teacher

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required
Demonstrated interest in teaching, learning, and supporting student growth

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom and school environment for extended periods of time.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs as needed to access classrooms and school spaces.
Ability to lift, carry, and move classroom materials and supplies weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
Ability and willingness to supervise students outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
Vision sufficient to effectively supervise children and monitor classroom and school environments to ensure safety.
Ability to complete routine classroom tasks requiring dexterity, such as typing, writing, cutting, and manipulating learning materials.
