The Educational Technology Specialist will assist faculty in integrating appropriate and innovative technologies to support, enhance, and extend learning with a focus on Grades 6-12. This individual serves as a vital liaison between students, teachers, and the EdTech team to ensure technology tools seamlessly support curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The Educational Technology Specialist reports to the Director of Educational Technology and is a full-time exempt employee. This is a 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Curriculum Integration
Partner with faculty to embed digital and AI literacy, safe behavior, and digital citizenship skills into instruction in alignment with the school’s RUP.
Support the development and delivery of technology skills that reinforce the school’s instructional
Collaborate with faculty to design projects and lesson activities that promote communication, collaboration, and creativity, while elevating engagement through innovation.
Facilitate the integration of STEM-based instruction by leveraging maker-space tools, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and robotics, to foster design thinking and hands-on, experiential learning
Instruct an upper school elective based on divisional
Educational Technology Coaching & Professional Learning
Coach faculty on the effective integration of digital tools and assistive technologies that strengthen students’ executive skills while fostering independence, self-advocacy, and academic confidence.
Recommend strategies and tools that support multisensory instruction, executive functioning, and learner variability.
Lead ongoing professional learning for faculty to build confidence and capability in using technology to generate innovative ideas and solve problems.
Technology Operations
Assist in administering the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system and managing digital resources to sustain a seamless 1:1 learning environment.
Support the technical functionality of learning spaces, including setup, troubleshooting, and operation of audio/visual equipment in classrooms and for school-wide events and performances.
Strategy, Research & Program Evaluation
Research emerging educational technology trends to recommend innovations aligned with the school’s mission and strategic priorities.
Evaluate the effectiveness and long-term sustainability of educational technologies to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and strategic plan.
Contribute to other school-wide initiatives and duties that align with the strategic goals and evolving needs of the Fletcher School community.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required (Master’s preferred), with 3+ years of well-rounded experience in education, ideally within an independent school setting working with diverse learners.
Pedagogical & Technical Expertise: Strong interest and proven experience in pedagogy and innovation, with a particular focus on supporting one-to-one technology Must be proficient in managing and troubleshooting a variety of devices.
Strategic Problem-Solving: A proactive learner who stays current with industry trends, shifts, and product updates to anticipate impacts on the school environment. A candidate should embrace the opportunity to solve unprecedented problems and demonstrate a mindset that thrives when working with new tools and evolving situations.
Communication & Interpersonal Strength: Must be an approachable, warm, and patient listener capable of interacting with a diverse group of employees, students, and This includes the ability to explain complex technology to users with varying degrees of understanding and a preference for working collaboratively within a team.
Operational Excellence: Exceptional project management and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple small projects Must demonstrate a high level of independence, professional maturity, and adherence to the highest levels of honesty and integrity.

The Fletcher School is a non-profit, independent school offering a comprehensive educational program designed to build the academic, social and emotional competence of students with specific learning disabilities and/or ADHD. The program enables students in grades K-12 to experience success and embrace their unique talents. The Fletcher School program offers a student to teacher ratio of six to one (6:1) and is based on the principles of the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading, writing, spelling, math, and all subject areas as part of a total language system.
