Candidates for the Upper School History Teacher position should be knowledgeable about all aspects of history instruction, including the use of instructional technology, and should be eager to work both with exceptionally able and motivated students and with students who are less academically independent. A teacher's specific schedule of courses will depend on their interests and background, as well as on the needs of the department, which currently include United States History (AP and College Prep), World History (ancient and modern), and a variety of elective topics. The ideal candidate has taught, or is prepared to teach, both U.S. and World History. Experience working with history-related clubs (Model UN, Mock Trial, History Day) is a plus. Candidates should work well with colleagues, have strong organizational skills and habits, and possess a sense of humor and creativity. In addition to teaching, this position includes normal faculty duties such as advising students, supervising study areas, chaperoning occasional activities, teaching a Mayterm course, and contributing to other school activities through coaching or moderating a club.
APPLICATION
Complete applications should include a cover letter, resume, transcripts, and letters of recommendation if available.
