Compensation: Salary and benefits are competitive with independent schools in the Seattle area and based on our faculty salary scale, which considers years of teaching experience and education. This position is on average 20 hours per every school week, with hours to be determined with the Assistant Head of School.

Job Summary:
Works in partnership with teachers and administrators to strengthen instructional practices across grades and subject areas. Provides coaching, mentoring, modeling, and co-teaching in classrooms to support high-quality instruction, increase student achievement, and build faculty confidence and capacity.
Specific Responsibilities:
Conducting Coaching Cycles
Modeling and Coteaching Lessons in Math and Literacy
Supporting teachers in creating math discourse routines
Supporting teachers in multi-sensory literacy integration
Supporting teachers in comprehension and response to text
Partnering with teachers to develop proactive classroom routines and management systems
Facilitating small group professional learning
Serving as a thought partner to the Assistant Head of School for ongoing growth trends
Leading staff meetings and inservice sessions for professional development
Offers curriculum resources and training to faculty in math and reading instruction
Develops a system to track progress in connection with the Feedback and Evaluation model
Has a commitment to ongoing cultural competence and professional development that includes anti-bias and anti-racist education
Actively participates in and attends weekly staff meetings
Stewards staff and faculty culture in alignment with Meridian’s Mission and Values
Maintains a professional demeanor in all communications and interactions with students, faculty, parents, and other members of the Meridian community
Actively participates in the life of the school
Vigorously engages with their own professional development; is a lifelong learner
Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school's documents
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, and staff
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience in elementary subjects
Master’s Degree in Education or Curriculum Development
Knowledge of Standards across subjects, including Learning for Justice
Demonstrated experience coaching or mentoring teachers
Skilled in building trusting relationships with adults
Experience in modeling instruction or co-teaching in classrooms

Proficient at working in a Google suite environment, and have the ability to master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technology

Other:
Preferred experience as an instructional coach, literacy or math interventionist
Training in Responsive Classroom, OG/Foundations Literacy, or similar
Ability to plan and design lessons beyond a “boxed” curriculum
Ability to support faculty in designing Experiential Learning opportunities, Project-Based Learning, and Place-Based Education
