Tower Hill School seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Middle School Science Teacher beginning in August of 2026. The ideal candidate will have a broad academic background in the sciences and a passion for working with middle school students. The candidate should be well versed in experiential science education to help develop our curriculum. The candidate would be a team player, joining a close-knit faculty where each grade level has a team of teachers cooperating to advance middle school science. This is a full-time, benefitted, 10-month position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Teach four sections of middle school science
Specific grades and content determined based on candidate’s experience and needs of the department
Participate in regular conferences with students, parents and colleagues
Engage in the design and development of curricular materials with colleagues
Provide clear instructions, supervision and confidence leading Middle School students through hands-on lab work
Serve as an advisor for up to 10 students
Participate in faculty collaborations and meetings
Assist with student supervision and chaperoning

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or related field (master’s degree preferred)
Experience in student centered education and differentiation
Sensitivity to the developmental stages and well-being of children
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
Enthusiasm for professional growth, academic excellence and creative teaching
Ability to plan and organize educational content
Commitment to broad participation in school life
Experience in and commitment to the ongoing development and maintenance of an inclusive campus community
Commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of students
Demonstrated safety/laboratory experience
