When determining placement in the salary range, Millbrook School considers total teaching experience, number of years working at Millbrook School, and other factors permitted by law.
Required Education:
4 Year Degree
Millbrook School seeks a full-time math teacher, capable of teaching Algebra through Calculus, beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. Millbrook’s math department develops the skills of understanding and imagination equally and inspires students to see math as, fundamentally, a creative quest. Combining centuries-old methods of construction with compass and straight-edge and current online programs such as Desmos, teachers inspire students to ask, discover, and verify what they know and why. We seek educators who value creating inclusive classrooms and curricula. Energy for adolescents, adaptability, humor, and integrity are the hallmarks of Millbrook's faculty.
Interested candidates should submit a brief cover letter and resume to Martha Clizbe, Math Department Chair, and Jasper Turner, Dean of Faculty, through our employment portal.
As an equal opportunity employer, Millbrook School does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, citizenship status, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Moreover, Millbrook School recognizes the value of a diverse faculty and staff, and actively seeks candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds.
A bachelor’s degree in math or a related field and strong communication skills are required. Coaching & teaching experience are preferred. In addition to teaching four sections (or the equivalent), this position includes coaching or supervising an afternoon program for two out of three seasons and serving as an advisor for up to six students. Full-time faculty members are also expected to participate in community service, evening responsibility, activities, assemblies and attend required meetings and workshops. The primary goal of a teaching faculty member is to ensure that each student achieves the highest potential possible. Housing may be provided and would bring with it residential life duties.
Nestled on 800 acres in the Hudson Valley, Millbrook School resides just 90 miles north of New York City. Home to 330 students in grades 9 through 12 from 22 states and 17 countries, the campus includes state-of-the-art residential, athletic, arts, and environmental science facilities, including the AZA-accredited Trevor-Lovejoy Zoo. Everything that Millbrook School does begins and ends with its mission: In a community where every student is known and needed, Millbrook prepares its students for college and lives of meaning and consequence by instilling the values of respect, integrity, stewardship, service, and curiosity. To prepare our students for a life both individually satisfying and valuable to the greater society, we strive to deliberately construct a community that embodies and celebrates the diversity that characterizes the modern world.
