We are seeking a Middle School Student Services Counselor who will work with students, parents, and faculty to support each student’s overall success and will serve as a clearinghouse for all student concerns that intrude on learning. We are looking to hire a Student Services Counselor who builds meaningful relationships with students and families and is passionate about student development.

Professional Qualifications:
The most desirable candidates will have the following background or comparable experience:
> Master's Degree required and 5 years of experience in a similar position
> Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
> Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and work
independently, and address several challenges simultaneously
> Possession of a pleasant and collaborative style in the workplace, including a professional
attitude
> Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment
> Well-versed in technology, various software suites and office equipment related to the position
> Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information

Essential Functions
> Teaches in-class guidance classes for grades 6, 7, and 8
> Provides individual and group counseling for grades 6, 7, and 8
> Attends Grade Level Meetings 6, 7, 8: helps create and oversee follow-up plans
> Schedules and/or attends parent/teacher conferences involving Student Services, documents
meetings, and assists with follow-up
> Assists with relevant grade-level community services projects for grades 6, 7, 8, and maintains
records of all MS students’ individual community service hours
> Assists with organizing and attending parenting workshops
> Attends Educational Planning meetings and monitors resulting accommodations and strategies for grades 6, 7, and 8
> Attends monthly Middle School Faculty meetings
> Works closely with the Head of Middle School, Director of Student Services, Middle School
Dean of Students, and Nurses
> Attends weekly Student Services meetings
> Coordinates Red Ribbon Week for the Middle School
> Member of the Crisis Management Team
> Liaison to outside professionals and agencies
> Coordinates the Middle School Advisory Program
> Completes all work and assigned tasks in a timely, efficient, accurate, and organized manner
> Performs other duties as assigned

Physical and Work Requirements:
> Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer

> Travel required for meetings, events, and professional development
