Now Hiring: Group Leaders for Shady Hill Summer Programs!
Shady Hill School is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate Group Leaders to join our dynamic Summer Program team. If you love working with children, enjoy facilitating active recess play, and thrive in a joyful, collaborative environment, this is the job for you!
About the Role:
Group Leaders are the heart of our Summer Program. They lead daily activities, build strong relationships with campers, and help create a safe, fun, and inclusive community. Group Leaders must be at least 18 years old by June 2026. While prior experience is a plus, it’s not required: we value energy, responsibility, and a positive attitude!
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a group of campers throughout the day
Facilitate team-building games, sports, crafts, and other activities
Set clear expectations and support routines and transitions
Maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for children
Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
Be on time for the start of the day and all student transitions
Qualifications:
Reliable, flexible, and upbeat
Comfortable leading games and structured activities
Able to support a range of camper needs and personalities
Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
Available for Orientation Day on Friday, June 12
Summer Program Dates & Schedule:
Orientation Day – June 12 (Required)
"Fun Camp" (SHS Students Only) – June 15–18 (No programming June 19)
Session One – June 22–July 2 (No programming July 3)
Session Two – July 6–17 (Monday–Friday)
Session Three – July 20–July 31 (Monday–Friday)
Preference will be given to applicants available for all sessions.
Pay Rate: $18–$22/hour, rounded to the nearest quarter hour (or existing SHS hourly rate for current employees)
Optional Aftercare Hours: Additional pay available for supporting from 3:30–6:00 PM
