Salary: Salary commensurate with that of a teacher assistant
Summary: The collaborative teacher works alongside the lead teachers in the assigned grade level to enhance student learning and ensure that grade-level expectations are met. This assistant role involves actively collaborating with the teaching team to monitor student progress, provide individualized support, and facilitate both small-group and whole-class instruction. The position focuses on meeting the unique needs of each student through thoughtful instructional strategies and close collaboration with the grade-level team to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Specifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in education and teaching certification
· Minimum of two years’ experience teaching children preferred
· Desire and initiative to support the curriculum differentiation for students to meet program expectations
· Skill and comfort facilitating aimswebPlus and progress monitoring platforms to determine student needs
· Confidence and flexibility to work collaboratively with a diverse group of constituencies
· Primary (elementary) grade teaching experience
· Understanding of high-quality instruction, including the science of reading
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating
· Support the administration of grade-level benchmarking assessments and progress monitoring
· Plan and implement intervention and enrichment for students who are above and below benchmark
· Provide support for the adherence of student accommodation and action plans
· Observe and note students’ progress or behaviors that will assist the lead teacher and student in meeting goals and expectations
· Participate in opening and closing meetings, team planning sessions, and other meetings as advised by the administration
· Adhere to the school’s professional expectations and character virtues
· Read and edit student progress reports for accuracy and consistency as a support to lead teachers
· Facilitate Learning Lab
Teamwork, Planning
· Establish and maintain open communication with the lead teaching team
· Work in collaboration with lead teachers to provide innovative learning opportunities
· Be knowledgeable and prepared to teach the class in the absence of the lead teacher
· Communicate initiatives, updates, and progress via data, observations, and work samples to lead teachers, support services, and the division head as needed.
Child Safety, Care, Guidance
· Be familiar with and adhere to the division’s and school’s policies and procedures
· Ensure the safety of children and the environment
· Help with the care and supervision of students during conference days
· Provide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be self-disciplined and achieve goals
· Support students during lunch and recess times
· Support other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School
