Pay Range: $50,000 to $75,000 based on years of relevant experience.

St. James’ Episcopal School is looking for a full-time 2nd Grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the School’s mission to support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.
We are looking for a 2nd Grade teacher who is confident in their ability to:
Design rigorous, innovative, and equity-framed Writing, Reading, Social Studies, and Mathematics instruction with differentiated student learning and assessment.
Implement socio-emotional learning in the classroom.
Purposefully use technology, and monitor students’ use of technology, in the classroom.
Design and deliver comprehensive individual and group projects with in-depth and rubric-based feedback to students and families.
Partner closely with co-curriculars and other grade level team members to foster an interdisciplinary approach to instruction which includes substantial writing, project-based learning, and service-learning.
Communicate and use clear assessment practices and provide regular feedback to students and families.
Regularly maintain the digital student gradebook of each student.
Write comprehensive narratives for each child three times a year.
Fulfill assigned pick-up, drop-off, lunch, and recess coverage duties.
Participate enthusiastically in the greater life of the school.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a masters preferred. Experience in the field is advantageous. This opportunity requires excellent strategies and skills in communication, collaboration, and organization with an appreciation for confidentiality, equity, belonging, and professional growth.
