Renaissance School, a co-ed 9th-12th grade independent day school, is seeking an experienced college counselor to teach a college counseling course to juniors and seniors in the 2026-2027 school year. As a classroom instructor and academic advisor, the college counselor will work with juniors one hour per week and seniors one hour per week. Additionally, there will be oversight and coaching throughout the entire college admissions process. With no more than 20 seniors each year, college counseling at Renaissance School is a very hands-on and supportive program.
The selected candidate will take a lead role as a member of the college counseling team at Renaissance School, working closely with the Academic Dean. This candidate will build upon a unique and highly successful student-centered college counseling model that has been developed over the span of two decades.
Renaissance School’s college counselor will join an inspired and engaged group of faculty committed to lifelong learning, refining their craft, and fostering the curiosity of high school students who are dedicated to learning and growing as individuals and young scholars.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching secondary students and evidence of commitment to college preparatory education. Familiarity with FAFSA, the Common Application, and the college admissions timeline and process is a requirement.
Renaissance School is an environment where new ideas and methods are celebrated, and research and professional growth is encouraged. Renaissance School faculty must be passionate about working with high ability high school students and must embrace our four educational pillars: creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and civic engagement.
