The Pegasus School, an independent school serving students in PK through Grade 8 in Huntington Beach, California, seeks a strategic and relationship-centered Director of Enrollment Management to join its leadership team. The school has maintained full enrollment for several years and continues to experience strong interest from prospective families, with waiting lists across multiple grade levels. The next Director of Enrollment Management will build on this position of strength by guiding the school’s enrollment strategy, ensuring that Pegasus continues to attract mission-aligned families while sustaining a vibrant and engaged community.
Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Management serves as a key strategic partner in advancing the school’s mission and supporting the long-term health and sustainability of its enrollment. The Director leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive enrollment strategy that integrates admissions, financial aid, collaboration with marketing and communications, and retention efforts.
Working closely with the Head of School and leadership team, the Director analyzes enrollment data, demographic trends, and market conditions to inform recruitment and retention strategies and support the school’s long-term enrollment goals. At the same time, the Director cultivates meaningful relationships with prospective and current families, helping them understand what makes Pegasus distinctive and how the school’s program supports the growth of each child.
The next Director of Enrollment Management will combine strategic insight with a deep appreciation for relationships and community. By strengthening recruitment initiatives, supporting family engagement, and helping the school communicate its distinctive mission and program, the Director will play an essential role in ensuring that Pegasus continues to attract and enroll students who will thrive as members of the Pegasus community.

This is a full-time, twelve-month, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Head of School. This position supervises the Associate Director of Admissions.

At least five years of leadership experience in admissions, financial aid, or enrollment management, with a demonstrated ability to meet enrollment goals and contribute to overall enrollment strategy.
Fluency with enrollment management systems, preferably Finalsite and Clarity, along with comfort using tools that support communications, data tracking, and family engagement.
Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to shift thoughtfully between strategic messaging and responsive, relationship-centered communication with prospective and current families.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines throughout the admissions cycle.
Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support admissions events, open houses, and community outreach.
