The Rashi School, Greater Boston’s Reform Jewish Independent School, serving students in grades Pre-K-8 seeks a Theater Arts Specialist (.6 FTE) for the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for Academic Operations and Culture, the Theater Arts Specialist will work collaboratively on all aspects of the program with the full-time Theater Director. Hours are typically 24 hours per week Monday through Thursday with required times for after school rehearsals Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and performances.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide After School instruction on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons
Cast Lower and Middle School productions in collaboration with the Theater Director
Design and implement a Middle School Elective each trimester
In collaboration with the Theater Director, determine the necessary technical support, such as lighting, audio, staging, and special needs, necessary for events and performances presented at the facilities (and at times other spaces) in advance of production dates
Provide technical support for school performances, productions, and presentations as needed
Supervise and assist with set and stage construction and management as necessary, in conjunction with the Theater Director
Support and instruct student and volunteer technical staff for individual shows
Support students with public speaking in preparation of public facing events
Support students with script writing for grade level plays and performances in Grades 3-6
Support the Theater Director with choreography and music direction of grade level productions and musicals
Strike and load-out after performances
Share duties as assigned by Assistant Heads of School

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in theater or related field. Master's degree preferred.
5+ years teaching theater.
Suitable criminal background check required.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit, stand, type, twist, bend.
Able to use telephone and computers.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
