Bayside Academy seeks an innovative and dedicated teacher for grades 5–12 who will also serve as a Boys Basketball coach (Head JV Boys/Head MS) within the athletic program. The ideal candidate is versatile in the courses they can teach and demonstrates strong instructional skills that support student growth across a range of abilities and learning styles.
In the classroom, the teacher should foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication while creating an engaging and rigorous learning environment. Candidates should bring a dynamic instructional approach, demonstrate skill in differentiating instruction, and be committed to meeting the needs of all learners. Experience in advanced or college-preparatory courses is preferred, as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.
As part of the athletic program, the candidate will contribute to the development and leadership of the Boys Basketball program, helping student-athletes grow both competitively and personally. The coach will promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic while supporting the overall mission and values of the school. Responsibilities may include organizing practices, mentoring student-athletes, supporting program development, and collaborating with the athletic department.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as meaningful relationships are the foundation of student success. The successful candidate will build positive, trusting relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community both in the classroom and through athletics.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
A passion for working with students and a commitment to differentiated instruction.
Excellent communication, organization, collaboration skills, a dedication to continuous professional improvement, and a genuine love for working with children.
