Ever wish you could go back to your hockey prep school days? What if we told you that you could? This time, you’ll be the one keeping players healthy, safe, and ready to dominate on the ice.
We’re hiring for a Team Trainer to join our elite hockey development program at Tahoe Hockey Academy. If you’re passionate about ice hockey sports medicine, player wellness, and the game of hockey, this is your dream job.
The Role
As a Team Trainer, you’re the guardian of player health and wellness. You’ll live on campus in your own private studio attached to your team’s residential floor, serving as both a residential counselor and the medical safety expert who keeps our athletes performing at their peak.
Your responsibilities include:
Medical Safety & Wellness: Monitor player health, manage injuries, coordinate medical care, and ensure all athletes are physically ready to compete. You’re the first line of defense when something doesn’t feel right.
On-Ice Support: Be present on the bench during games and practices to assist players with injuries, equipment issues, and any immediate medical needs.
Family Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for families regarding player health, medical updates, and wellness concerns. You’ll keep parents informed and reassured.
Domestic Support: Collaborate with the team manager to help students with day-to-day needs, both on campus and on the road—from nutrition to recovery to general well-being.
Residential Life: Live on your team’s floor during the week and throughout the school year, providing mentorship, supervision, and a caring presence for your players.
Travel Companion: Hit the road with your team for every away game, tournament, and showcase—you’ll be there to manage medical needs, support players, and ensure their safety and wellness on and off the ice.
The Location
Let’s talk about perks: we live where other people vacation. Our campus is nestled in an area known for world-class outdoor recreation, stunning scenery, and a lifestyle that blends hard work with epic adventure. Whether you’re into skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or just enjoying fresh air and good vibes, this location has it all.
What We’re Looking For
Recent college grad (or someone early in their career) with a background in athletic training, sports medicine, kinesiology, or a related field
Former hockey prep school or academy student is a huge plus—you understand the demands and culture of elite youth hockey
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification)
Strong communication skills—you can talk to players, parents, and coaches with equal ease
Detail-oriented and proactive—you anticipate problems before they happen
Calm under pressure and quick on your feet (literally and figuratively)
Someone who genuinely cares about young athletes and wants to help them succeed
Interest in a long-term career as a trainer, strength coach, sports medicine professional, or in a related field
Why This Job Rocks
Live where people vacation: Seriously, our location is incredible. Work hard, play harder.
Your own private studio: Attached to your team’s floor, giving you space, privacy, and convenience.
Travel with the team: Road trips, tournaments, showcases—you’ll be on the bench and in the action.
Entry-level opportunity with real growth potential: Perfect for launching a career in sports medicine or training.
Make a difference: You’re not just taping ankles—you’re keeping elite athletes healthy and helping them chase their dreams.
Relive the hockey life: If you loved your hockey prep school experience, this is your chance to be part of it again—with purpose, impact, and a paycheck.
Ready to Join the Team?
If you’re a passionate, caring, hockey-minded professional who wants to combine your love of sports medicine with meaningful work, we want to hear from you. This isn’t just a job—it’s a lifestyle, a community, and a chance to shape the next generation of elite hockey players.
We’re hiring, so bring your skills, your energy, and your love for the game.
