The Prep School Math Teacher will teach grades 9-12. We expect the new hire to honor student thinking and curiosity as they discover the many patterns that unveil the big ideas of prep/high school mathematics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach various sections of Prep School math and possibly assist with temporary coverage of other courses.
Use technology (specifically Geometer’s Sketchpad and Mathematica) to create professional and meaningful content and assessments.
Provide thoughtful, individualized feedback and support to students.
Work closely with colleagues, the department head, and prep school administration to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience
Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in middle or secondary math
Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with families both orally and in writing
Prior experience teaching prep/high school students preferred
WORK HOURS:
7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30pm
Start Date: This position is for the 26-27 School Year with the new hire orientation beginning in late August.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $71,000 -$118,500 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We also offer a warm and supportive culture as well as exceptional benefits including but not limited to:
