Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a Full-Time Substitute Teacher to join our community for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exempt, full-time, 10-month position.  The ideal candidate will have Middle School teaching experience and a strong academic record focusing on an inquiry-based approach. This position will report directly to the Middle School Head.  

Responsibilities include:

• Provide assigned classroom coverage on a daily basis- this includes taking attendance, monitoring student behavior, and ensuring assigned work is completed

• Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; in education or related preferred.

• Experience working in an independent school setting is preferred.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents. 
• Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Maryvale and our connection to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. 
• Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population.
• Commitment to single gender education for young women. 
• Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level. 

Additional Requirements:

• Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
• Subject to a Child Protection Services screening prior to employment.
• Subject to a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct.

Salary is commensurate with experience and degree earned and ranges from $45,000.00 to $52,000.00 annually. This position is eligible for full-time benefits including personal and sick leave benefits.
