This is a full-time, academic-year, exempt position. Salary is dependent on
education and experience. Benefits include a tuition remission plan, health and dental
insurance, worker’s compensation, short-term and long-term disability, group life

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --Teaching upper school Conceptual Physics and Advanced Physics courses --Planning and evaluating course content, course materials, and methods of instruction --Utilizing effective class management techniques to ensure learning --Establishing positive teacher-student rapport --Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students --Communicating regularly with parents/guardians --Participating in departmental planning and curricular review --Maintaining expertise in subject matter through professional development --Attending faculty meetings --Serving as an advisor --Assisting with evening and weekend campus activities and supervision --Coaching and/or teaching in our co-curricular PEAK program --Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: --Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in physics or a related field --Enthusiasm and commitment to caring for adolescents --Commitment to St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School’s mission and vision, and comfortable with the tenets of the Episcopal Church --A philosophical alignment with St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School’s core values and curriculum
