Maret is looking for an inspiring and engaging English teacher beginning December 2025 through June 2026. Candidates should be lifelong learners who reflect the school's mission and core values, and have experience differentiating instructional strategies, strong communication skills; and a facility and nimbleness with technology.
The position, supervised by the chair of the Humanities Department, includes teaching two sections of ninth-grade English and one section of tenth-grade English.
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity, inclusion, and belonging in all facets of their work.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience teaching English at the upper school level; experience teaching History or interdisciplinary Humanities is a plus
Display excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with upper school students
Be committed to professional development and collaboration with colleagues both within and across disciplines
Place the individual student at the center of the learning process
Have a minimum of three years teaching experience
Have a master’s degree (preferred)
Compensation will be $1,300 to $2,140 per week, dependent on years of teaching experience and qualifications.
