Reporting to the Head of Upper School, the Upper School Math Teacher teaches motivated, hard-working Upper Students in a rigorous college preparatory community. The initial assignment includes teaching a variety of levels of Algebra II and may also include Statistics though the teaching assignments are subject to change. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree so that eligible courses may be offered for dual credit through our collegiate partner. This position begins in August 2026.
To ensure success in the pursuit of the School’s mission, the Math Teacher should possess a deep commitment to and a passion for teaching mathematical concepts through diverse instructional methods. The candidate should possess leadership qualities that inspire, motivate, and develop students. The ideal candidate should have the ability to be flexible and caring while holding students to high expectations in academic endeavors inside and outside of the classroom. Finally, successful candidates should be committed to collaborative curriculum development and continued professional development.

Responsibilities
Teaching Algebra II and Statistics, and possibly other Upper School math courses including Algebra I, Geometry, Calculus, or Math for Business and Social Science
Serving as a Upper School Student Advisor
Contributing to the broader Trinity School community by participating in extracurricular activities, possibly including the athletic program, student life, overnight trips, lunch and carpool duties, and/or club programs.
Implementing school safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.

Desired Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Mathematics or a Related Field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Math, Education, or a related field required
Teaching experience preferred, especially experience at the Upper School or college level
Experience designing and implementing a balanced, sequential, developmentally appropriate curriculum
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Commitment to collaboration with instructors in other academic areas
Ability to work cooperatively and diplomatically with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including composing and proofreading
Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities
Ability to use applicable computer programs and technology
Ability to engage students in learning
Enthusiasm for field of study
Physical Requirements

Frequent bending during several hours while working with students. Usually performed for 5 to 30 seconds at a time.

Work Environment
May deal with stressful situations in the normal course of duties, including a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
The work environment is a standard office, classroom, gymnasium, and/or outdoor setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and/or outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and/or bodily fluids.
