Job Summary
Mount Saint Joseph Academy (MSJA) seeks an innovative educational leader to guide the strategic integration of technology across our curriculum. Reporting to the Principal, the Director will partner with faculty, academic leadership, and other colleagues to align instructional technology with best pedagogical practices This student-centered, mission-driven role shapes how technology enhances personalized learning, visible thinking, and real-time feedback across grades 9-12. The Director serves as both an instructional leader and a systems partner, ensuring that instructional platforms, digital tools, and emerging technologies are integrated properly, sustainably, and in alignment with the Mount’s mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Vision & Strategy
Support the mission of Mount Saint Joseph Academy through its vision to empower young women to realize their fullest potential in a spirit of unity, reconciliation, gentleness, and compassion
Develop and refine a school-wide strategy for instructional technology that supports the Mount's mission and academic priorities.
Research and evaluate emerging educational technologies, matching pedagogical needs with appropriate resources
Collaborate with the Dean of Studies and Instruction, Sit on Academic Board, and Teaching and Learning Committees to integrate technology across the
Manage and develop strategic goals of the Technology Committee with measurable deliverables aligned to the school's five-year plan
Develop, review, and enhance student-centered technology policies, including the Acceptable Use Policy
Faculty Development
Lead faculty professional development in technology competencies for quality teaching, learning, and assessment,
Coach educators on best instructional design practices to leverage technology effectively
Collect, analyze, and apply feedback on school curriculum to identify growth opportunities for students and faculty
Systems & Operations
Maintain and support the learning management system (Canvas LMS), including upgrades, optimization, troubleshooting, and educator implementation
Optimize utilization of the student information system (PowerSchool) and support data analysis for informed decision-making
Work in close collaboration with the Network Administrator to ensure instructional platforms, system integrations, data work flows, and security considerations are aligned with instructional goals and MSJA’s needs
Manage standardized digital testing with support from the academic team and testing leaders
Support data-informed decision making in collaboration with the academic leadership
Monitor budget to ensure efficient resource allocation
Student Education
Teach one technology elective or course (summer or school year, as assigned)
Educate students on digital citizenship and best practices across grade levels through assemblies, advisory programming, and curriculum
Community & Communication
Engage families as partners in student learning through timely communication and parent/guardian education as needed
Maintain confidentiality in all communications with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
Collaborate across departments, including Academics, Student Life, Operations, etc. on initiatives that intersect with Instructional Technology and digital systems.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Dean of Studies and Instruction
Position Details
Reports to: Principal
Classification: Exempt, Full-Time
Term: 10 months, plus 12 working days in summer (orientation and planning)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45 am-3:45 pm; select evening/weekend events (Open House, Back to School Night, Graduation, Key Advancement and Admissions activities)
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, and computer use. Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Education, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 5 years teaching and/or guiding teachers in a secondary setting
Strong instructional skills delivered through varied, culturally responsive, inclusive, and engaging digital technology strategies
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred
Experience leading teams or cross-function initiatives
Knowledge of data analytics and navigation of datasets to inform leadership in decision making
Experience in curriculum design and instructional program development.
