Community School of Naples (CSN), an independent college preparatory school, is currently seeking a creative and dynamic educator to join our middle school faculty on August 10, 2026. We are looking for a lead instructor who is passionate about fostering a "thinker-maker" culture. At CSN, we believe that inquiry, hands-on problem-solving, and the Engineering Design Process are the heart of a great education.
The Role: You will lead a variety of engaging, student-centered courses designed to inspire the next generation of creators. Whether you are helping students gain essential technology skills, guiding a VEX Robotics team, or exploring the ethics of AI and Machine Learning, your goal is to make complex ideas feel like a grand adventure.
We view this role as a bridge- upgrading student capabilities from digital consumers to digital creators. Our current curriculum includes a diverse range of topics, such as:
Design & Invention: Inventors Workshop, Product Design, and Wearable Electronics.
Computing: Game Design (Minecraft), Block & Python Coding, and AI.
Engineering: Introduction to Engineering and Technology Essentials.
Who You Are: We aren’t necessarily looking for a technical expert; we are looking for a lifelong learner. If you have a background in Design Thinking or experience with inquiry-based design cycles (similar to Project Lead The Way (PLTW) and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Design standards), you’ll feel right at home here.
The Environment: You will have access to a premiere classroom-makerspace equipped with the "toys" that make engineering fun: 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and a full suite of fabrication tools. For the digital side, we utilize microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), VEX robotics, and various sensors. We are committed to constantly updating these facilities to keep our program at the cutting edge.?
Specific responsibilities include:
Teach five classes with an average size of 13-15 students.
Manage related extracurricular activities (e.g. competitive robotics & engineering projects). These may require working with students outside of regular school hours.
Collaborate and participate in the work of the department on innovative curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
Providing valuable feedback to students on their performance.
Advise 11-13 students.
CSN is one of the top independent schools in southwest Florida and maintains a PK3-12 school enrollment of over 1000 students. CSN has a high retention rate with many dedicated teachers here for longer than 10 years; some more than 30. Our students track higher than all other southwest Florida schools in test scores, extracurricular activities, and college acceptances. The school’s beautiful 77-acre campus features lush landscaping, ponds, and an open atmosphere.
Compensation and Benefits
This appointment is for the 2026/2027 academic year starting with orientation on August 10, 2026, and is paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications. This position is eligible for CSN’s competitive benefit package, which includes medical, dental, vision, short- & long-term disability and life insurance, 403(b) retirement program with a generous match, Aflac, and Legal Shield offerings. Additional benefits include generous time-off (academic recesses and summer) and the use of the school’s state-of-the-art recreational facilities. Complimentary breakfast and lunch are served on all school days. Please visit our website for more details about the benefits of a career at CSN https://www.communityschoolnaples.org/about/careers-at-csn
The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Technology, Education, Engineering, or CS).
A "pro-growth" mindset. You may not have taught every class on this list yet, but you are excited to roll up your sleeves, learn the tools, and grow alongside your students.
A passion for the Makerspace philosophy—turning ideas into physical or digital reality.
Community School of Naples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Fingerprinting and background checks are a required part of CSN’s employment eligibility process.
CSN is one of the top independent, non-sectarian day schools in Florida and maintains a PK-12 enrollment of 1,000+ students. CSN students are consistently top-ranked when compared to all other Southwest Florida students-whether test scores, extracurricular activities, or college acceptances. The school’s educational program includes a comprehensive curriculum, a gifted faculty and a low student-faculty ratio. These elements ensure that each student experiences a challenging education that only an independent, college preparatory school can provide. CSN is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
