COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary range is $145,000 - $170,000 annually. Pinewood offers comprehensive benefits to employees. POSITION SUMMARY:
Pinewood School is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Technology (Grades K-6) to join our team starting in early June. The Associate Director of Technology (K–6) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of educational technology for the Lower and Middle Campuses. This highly visible, relationship-centered role partners closely with campus leadership, faculty, students, and parents to ensure technology is used thoughtfully, developmentally appropriately, and effectively to support teaching and learning.
This is a 12-month position reporting to the K-12 Director of Technology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Technology Leadership
Partner with campus heads and curriculum leaders to align technology with instructional priorities.
Coach teachers on effective classroom technology integration.
Design and deliver faculty professional development on instructional platforms (Schoology, IXL, Canva and other instructional tools) and digital best practices.
Support student digital organization, workflow habits, and responsible use.
Platform & Systems Oversight
Serve as the K–6 lead for Schoology, including course templates, workflows, and best practices.
Oversee instructional tools such as IXL, Typing Club, and Raz-Kids.
Develop training resources for faculty, students, and parents.
Partner on evaluation and pilot programs for new digital tools.
Parent & Community Engagement
Serve as the primary K–6 contact for parent technology questions and concerns.
Lead parent technology education sessions.
Collaborate with campus leadership on sensitive communications related to technology use.
Student Support & Digital Citizenship
Promote responsible technology use and digital citizenship.
Collaborate with administrators and teachers to address student technology behavior concerns.
Ensure K–6 practices reflect student safety, privacy, and age-appropriate use.
Leadership & Team Management
Provide direction and leadership to K–6 technology staff.
Coordinate day-to-day support processes and maintain clear documentation and workflows.
Present at faculty meetings and campus events.
Contribute to long-term academic technology planning and initiative implementation.
IT Collaboration
Partner with IT colleagues to support campus technology needs.
Maintain working knowledge of backend systems such as Jamf and ClassLink.
Provide support during high-volume periods, including back-to-school and summer programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and moving between campus locations.
Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, phone, and audiovisual equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone and virtually.
Ability to lift and move technology equipment and materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Occasional bending, reaching, and positioning to access classroom or office technology equipment.
Ability to respond to campus needs during regular school hours and periodic high-demand times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Education, Information Systems, or related field.
5+ years of experience in educational technology leadership or instructional technology.
Experience supporting and training faculty in a K–12 school environment.
Strong knowledge of learning management systems, instructional software, and digital citizenship best practices.
Working knowledge of networking, macOS, and iPads, with experience troubleshooting and resolving related issues.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with faculty, parents, and administrators.
Experience with JAMF Mobile Device Management (MDM) or equivalent systems.
Occasionally work on weekends and nights
