The Seven Hills School seeks a dynamic and thoughtful educator to join its Middle School faculty as a History/Social Studies teacher. We are looking for someone who loves working with young adolescents and believes that the study of history helps students better understand themselves, their communities, and the wider world.
The Middle School history curriculum currently includes courses that introduce students to historical inquiry, civic engagement, and interdisciplinary learning Students are encouraged to ask meaningful questions, analyze primary and secondary sources, consider multiple perspectives, and connect historical events to contemporary issues. Our teachers design learning experiences that challenge students intellectually while also supporting their growth as confident and engaged learners.
The ideal candidate is passionate about middle school students and understands the importance of building strong relationships during this formative stage of development. They create classrooms where students feel safe taking intellectual risks, sharing ideas, and learning from one another.
In addition to classroom teaching, faculty members play an active role in the life of the school through advising students, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to student activities or athletics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in history, social studies education, or a related field; preference for an advanced degree.
Minimum of 3–5 years of middle school or upper elementary teaching experience preferred.
