We invite you to join our team in bringing this mission to life for our students by teaching Upper School science elective classes in the 2026–27 school year. This role includes teaching a selection of trimester-long elective courses shaped by the successful candidate’s expertise, interests, and the needs of the program. Potential course offerings include Introduction to Anatomy, Marine Science, Geology, Animal Behavior, Forensic Science, and Endocrinology.
Teaching Responsibilities
Teach up to five sections of Upper School (grades 9-12) Science courses.
Design and deliver lessons aligned with Upper School science standards and departmental learning goals.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
Seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
Incorporate formative and summative assessment practices to provide timely, meaningful feedback.
Foster a classroom environment that supports risk-taking, collaboration, and growth.
Collaborate with Upper School colleagues on curriculum development, assessment practices, and student support.
Communicate clearly and consistently with students, families, and colleagues.
Participate fully in the life of the Upper School, including advisory, faculty meetings, and community events.
Qualifications
3–5 years of 9th-12th grade teaching experience preferred.
Experience teaching a range of Upper School science courses.
Strong content knowledge and commitment to effective science pedagogy.
Evidence of engagement in professional learning (e.g., workshops, conferences, professional learning communities, or coursework) that informs instructional practice.
