This role centers on Design Thinking as a framework for guiding students through the full design cycle, from problem identification to prototyping, iteration, and communication. Engineering at Mid-Pacific goes beyond building a solution: students must understand the global impact and economic feasibility of their work and be able to communicate it effectively to a target audience. Introduce students to immersive virtual reality environments and applications, including AR/VR/Mixed Reality, and other emerging technologies.
Encourage students to think critically and creatively, and to understand and navigate the complexities of the digital environment.
Address diverse learners' needs through various instructional student-centered strategies and assessment tools, which engage students in the learning process.
In alignment with the school’s mission and vision, collaborate and co-create meaningful lessons and assessments with other department and technology faculty that address the core concepts and skills as set out in the departmental scope and sequence.
Set assignments and post homework assignments weekly on the internet using the school’s information system program.
Prepare and administer formative and summative assessments of students’ learning; record results electronically and post student grades electronically on a weekly basis.
Maintain effective classroom management, liaising with deans and parents as necessary.
Participate in faculty and departmental meetings and attend professional development workshops and educational conferences.
Carry out all homeroom / advisory responsibilities.
Determine budget needs for equipment and materials for courses taught.
Participate in faculty and departmental meetings and attend professional development workshops and educational conferences.

Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science, Robotics or related field from an accredited university or college. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level. Experience with electronics, 3D printers, laser cutters and other similar equipment.
At Mid-Pacific, we see children with original ideas and perspectives, with dreams, aspirations, emotions, and insights. We see students who celebrate these many characteristics and interests... and define who they are and how they learn. Faculty, administration, and staff are key components in this equation.
Our employees are one of our greatest strengths. Our goal is to recruit and retain the most qualified individuals based on how their experience and skills mesh with the school's mission and vision. Mid-Pacific employees are progressive, innovative and always place student needs first.
