The Elisabeth Morrow School, a leader in education from early childhood through middle school, seeks a clinical psychologist for the 2026–2027 school year to support its Division of Early Learning and the Lower School Division on its Englewood, New Jersey campus. This position reports to both the head of Early Learning and the head of Lower School.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The psychologist will support the growth and success of each student through the following responsibilities:
Collaborating with division heads, the leadership team, and faculty by attending faculty and administrative meetings to promote and share expertise in the development of self-regulation, problem-solving, self-advocacy, coping skills, stamina, and confidence in students.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with local agencies, organizations, and outside specialists who may be able to serve our families in the pursuit of wellness support.
Serving on The Elisabeth Morrow School child study and student success teams.
Conducting observations, assessments, and evaluations of students ages 2 through fourth grade.
Providing feedback, documentation, and qualitative and quantitative data for teachers, administrators, and families.
Recommending strategies to faculty and guiding them to support further student progress.
Establishing warm and productive relationships with families.
Developing professional development opportunities and facilitating workshops for faculty and families around topics of emotional wellness and social-emotional development.
Supporting families in the pursuit of outside support.
Establishing a schedule for each division that allows for informal visits.
Contributing to the language of progress reports.
Being present for family meetings, if warranted.
Participating in IEP, district, and educational services meetings.
Providing a safe space for students who may require a break.
Remaining current on all relevant licenses and certifications.
Offering social skills lunch bunch groups in Chilton House (Early Learning Division) and Little School (Lower School Division).
Essential Qualifications
An advanced degree (master's, Psy.D., or Ph.D.) in clinical psychology, child psychology, or a related field.
Experience leading small group or 1-on-1 counseling, or delivering effective and engaging social-emotional learning classes.
Knowledge of and empathy for the social-emotional and developmental needs of children ages 2 through 10.
Experience with or an interest in helping students develop social and emotional skills.
The abilities to do the following:
Connect with children while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Efficiently organize, document, and maintain digital records pertaining to students.
Work harmoniously with families to promote partnership and achievement.
Strong attention to detail, superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex student information in a respectful and clear manner.
A sense of humor, empathy, and humility.
Demonstrated cultural competency, including awareness of personal cultural lenses, the ability to understand and value different perspectives, interact competently and respectfully with diverse cultures, and cultivate meaningful relationships across different cultural frameworks.
Proficiency with Google Meet, Zoom, and other digital collaboration platforms.
The following qualifications are not required but are helpful:
Experience with the educational referral process in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Fluency in Mandarin or Korean.

This is a full-time position with a benefits and compensation package that is competitive for the region. The salary range for this position is of $75,000 to $95,000.
