Position Description:
Abington Friends School is seeking a middle school theater teacher for the 26-27 school year. The position is a ¾ position, which will include medical and retirement benefits. The primary responsibility of the position will be:
to establish a cohesive theater scope-and-sequence across grades 5 - 8
to teach semester-long courses in grades 5 - 8
serve as the director of an annual Middle School theatre production each spring. This includes but is not limited to holding auditions as well as after school, evening, and weekend rehearsals and requires individual and collaborative supervision of students.
As a ¾ time employee the The Middle School theater teacher will not be required to serve as an advisor, club facilitator, or Conscious Community leader. The Middle School theater teacher will report directly to the Director of Middle School and will be expected to:
collaborate with Middle School faculty to plan and execute cross-curricular programming.
attend a weekly faculty meeting.
write report cards.
